Description
For women who were randomly selected and interviewed for the domestic violence module and had experienced physical or sexual abuse, DVHFEMASOC indicates whether they sought help from a women's association to stop that abuse.

DVHFEMASOC is a country-specific variable and it is not included in any phase of the standard DHS questionnaire, but it is part of a series on help sought for abuse, which is included in Phase IV forward of the standard domestic violence module.

- Angola 2015: Women age 15-49 who were selected and interviewed for the domestic violence module, and who have experienced physical violence since age 15, while pregnant, or at any time from their current/former husband/partner, or sexual violence at any time.
- Mali 2006: Women age 15-49 who were selected and interviewed for the domestic violence module, and who were ever forced sexually or experienced physical violence since age 15.
- Nepal 2016: Women age 15-49 who were selected and interviewed for the domestic violence module, and who have experienced physical violence since age 15, while pregnant, or at any time from their current/former husband/partner, or sexual violence at any time.
- Pakistan 2017: Ever-married women age 15-49 who were selected and interviewed for the domestic violence module, and who have experienced physical violence since age 15, while pregnant, or at any time from their current/former husband, or sexual violence at any time.
- South Africa 1998: Women age 15-49 who have ever sought help for beatings or other mistreatment.
