Description
HUSEDYRBI reports the number of years of schooling the respondent's husband completed at the highest level of schooling achieved, in the Burundi educational system and as reported in HUSEDLVLBI. This variable is country-specific to Burundi.
Comparability
HUSEDYRBI has no comparability problems.
Because HUSEDYRBI reports the number of years of schooling at the highest level achieved, "4 years" does not mean 4 years total, but 4 years at whichever level of education the respondent achieved, within the Burundi educational system. Thus, a code of 4 could indicate 4 years of primary school, first cycle of secondary school, or second cycle of secondary school, for example. Users should consult the Survey Text tab for exact question wording and surrounding questions.
Comparability - Standard DHS
A question about the highest year of education the respondent has completed is included in every phase of the standard DHS questionnaire. HUSEDYRBI is a country-specific variable.
