DELUMBTROTH_ALL variables are 1-digit variables.
0 = No
1 = Yes
7 = Don't know
8 = Missing
9 = NIU (not in universe)
Description
DELUMBTROTH_ALL indicates whether, in response to an open-ended question, the respondent reported that some other treatment was applied to the stump of her child's umbilical cord. The meaning of "other" must be interpreted relative to the specific categories included in a particular sample.
DELUMBTROTH_ALL consists of a set of six separate variables, covering the most recent birth (DELUMBTROTH_01) up to the sixth-most-recent birth (i.e., DELUMBTROTH_02, DELUMBTROTH_03, DELUMBTROTH_04, DELUMBTROTH_05, and DELUMBTROTH_06) during the reference period prior to the survey. If DELUMBTROTH_ALL is included in a data extract, all these separate variables are included in a researcher's data file.
For most surveys, this information was collected for only the most recent birth (DELUMBTROTH_01). Surveys in which the data were collected for additional births are noted in the comparability section.
