Codes and Frequencies
Description
HUSEDYRGN reports the number of years of schooling completed by the female respondent's husband, at the highest level of schooling achieved, according to the Guinea education system. This variable is country-specific to Guinea.
The complementary variable HUSEDLVLGN reports the highest level of schooling attended by the woman's husband, according to the Guinean educational system.
Comparability
HUSEDYRGN has no comparability problems.
Because HUSEDYRGN reports the number of years of schooling at the level achieved, "4 years" does not mean 4 years total, but 4 years at whichever level of education the respondent's husband achieved. Thus, a code of 4 could indicate 4 years of primary school, a high school degree, or a bachelor's degree, for example. Users should consult the Survey Text tab for exact question wording and surrounding questions.
Comparability - Standard DHS
A question about the highest year of education the female respondent's husband has completed is included in every phase of the standard DHS questionnaire. HUSEDYRGN is a country-specific variable.
