Description
For women who gave birth in the last five years, ANCARETD3_ALL indicates whether, in response to an open-ended question, they reported that a matron or a hospital or health center worker gave antenatal care for a birth. This response category is country-specific to Chad.
ANCARETD3_ALL consists of a set of up to six separate variables, covering the most recent birth (ANCARETD3_01) up to the sixth-most-recent birth (i.e., ANCARETD3_02, ANCARETD3_03, ANCARETD3_04, ANCARETD3_05, and ANCARETD3_06) during the reference period prior to the survey. If ANCARETD3_ALL is included in a data extract, all these separate variables are included in a researcher's data file.

Apart from slight differences in question wording, ANCARETD3_ALL has no comparability problems.

An open-ended question about who provided antenatal care is included in Phase II forward of the standard DHS questionnaire. ANCARETD3_ALL is a country-specific response.
