Codes and Frequencies
Description
FPLEADERHR indicates whether the woman has recently heard family planning messages from community leaders.
Comparability
Along with universe differences, variations in question wording for FPLEADERHR potentially limit comparability. For example, some surveys specify that community leaders spoke favorably about family planning, while other surveys used the more ambiguous wording of "heard about family planning."
Samples also differed in the reference period for the question. Some surveys referred to "the last few months," while other surveys specified a number of months (such as 12 months).
These differences in question wording and varying time intervals could lead to variation in the frequency of responses. Researchers interested in using FPLEADERHR should take the wording and reference period into consideration when comparing across samples. See Survey Text.
