Comparability
Apart from universe differences, AIDHRISKINJ (V869I) is largely comparable across samples. Most commonly, samples first ask a question about the woman's perceived risk of getting HIV/AIDS, followed by the questions "Why do you think that you have a (moderate/great) chance of getting AIDS? Any other reasons?" or some slight variation.
Comparability - Standard DHS
AIDHRISKINJ (V869I) is included in the standard DHS questionnaire for Phase III.
Comparability — Namibia [top]
The 2000 Namibia survey includes "Had transfusion/injection" as a single response category. To maximize comparability, users may wish to combine the responses to AIDHRISKINJ and AIDHRISKBLOOD (V869H) when using this sample.
