Description
ALDRINKTYPNO reports how many alcoholic drinks the woman had on a typical day when she drank alcohol recently.
The small number of women reporting an implausibly high number (e.g., 30) may have misunderstood the question as referring to the number of days alcohol was consumed, rather than typical consumption per day.

ALDRINKTYPNO is a country-specific variable, and it is not included in the standard DHS questionnaire in any phase.
Comparability — Liberia [top]
The 2013 Liberia survey asks, "When you drink alcohol, how many drinks did you usually have? We count one drink as one can or bottle of beer, one glass of wine, or one shot of liquor."
Comparability — Namibia [top]
The 2013 Namibia survey asks, "During the past two weeks, when you consumed alcohol, on average, how many bottles/glasses/tots of alcohol did you have per day?"

The 2015 Zimbabwe survey asks, "In the last 30 days, how many alcoholic drinks did you have on a typical day when you drank alcohol?"
Universe
- Liberia 2013: Women age 15-49 who drank alcohol in the past month.
- Namibia 2013: Women age 15-64 who drank alcohol in the past 2 weeks, and who knew how many days they drank alcohol in the past 2 weeks.
- Zimbabwe 2015: All women age 15-49.
