Codes

0 = No
1 = Yes
8 = Missing
9 = NIU (not in universe)

Description

ANCNOND_ALL indicates whether, in response to an open-ended question, the woman reported she did not receive antenatal care because such care was not necessary.

ANCNOND_ALL consists of a set of up to six separate variables, covering the most recent birth (ANCNOND_01) up to, potentially, the sixth-most-recent birth (i.e., ANCNOND_02, ANCNOND_03, ANCNOND_04, ANCNOND_05, and ANCNOND_06) during the reference period prior to the survey. If ANCNOND_ALL is included in a data extract, all these separate variables are included in a researcher's data file.

Comparability

Apart from universe differences and slight differences in question wording, ANCNOND_ALL is largely comparable across samples.

Comparability - Standard DHS

ANCNOND_ALL is a country-specific variable, and it is not included in any phase of the standard DHS questionnaire.
