Demographic and Health Surveys
BIOFARMCIRCCM (V436) is a 3-digit numeric variable with 1 implied decimal place.
998 = Missing
999 = NIU (not in universe)
For women who gave birth in the three to five years before the survey, BIOFARMCIRCCM (V436) reports the circumference of the respondent's left upper arm in millimeters. Dividing BIOFARMCIRCCM by 10 yields the respondent's measured arm circumference in centimeters.
IPUMS-DHS has not recoded any numeric values in BIOFARMCIRCCM. However, some values are outside of a plausible range for adult arm circumference. Researchers are encouraged to set upper and lower bounds to reflect a plausible range.
