Description
For women who agreed to have blood pressure measured, BPTCAFFEINE indicates whether the woman had coffee, tea, cola, or any other caffeinated drink in the 30 minutes before the first blood pressure measurement. Consuming caffeine causes blood pressure to rise, and it is suggested that people avoid caffeine for 30 minutes before a blood pressure measurement.
Comparability
Apart from universe differences and slight differences in question wording, BPTCAFFEINE has no comparability problems.
Comparability - Standard DHS
BPTCAFFEINE is a country-specific variable, and it is not included in any phase of the standard DHS questionnaire.
