Description
CONUS3WHY (V765C) reports why a condom was used the last time the respondent had sexual intercourse with her third-most-recent partner.
Comparability
Apart from universe differences and slight variation in question wording, CONUS3WHY (V765C) is largely comparable across samples.
While most response categories are comparable across samples, this is not true for "did not use condom." Some samples code women who did not use a condom as "Did not use condom" (code "0"), while others exclude women who did not use a condom from the universe (code "9").
Comparability - Standard DHS
CONUS3WHY (V765C) is included in the standard DHS questionnaire for Phase IV only.
