Comparability
Along with universe differences, CONUSEHUS has some variation in question wording across samples. The standard question asks the woman if she used a condom the last time she had sex with her husband or cohabiting partner. Only surveys that depart from this standard are discussed below.
Comparability - Standard DHS
CONUSEHUS is included in the standard DHS questionnaire for Phase III only.
Comparability — Mali [top]
The Mali 1995 survey asks whether the woman used a condom the last time she had sex with her most recent sexual partner (the same question used for CONUSMAN1). While CONUSMAN1 includes the whole sample of women, CONUSEHUS only includes married and cohabiting women in the universe and assumes that the woman's last sexual partner was her husband or cohabiting partner.
