DECKIDHEALTH reports who has the final say on the children's health care.
The related variable DECKIDHCARE (V466) indicates whether the respondent can decide whether a sick child gets medical treatment.

Along with slight differences in question wording, DECKIDHEALTH differs across samples in response categories. In particular, samples differ in whether decision-making by the husband/partner alone or by someone other than the child's parents was acknowledged. The 2011 Benin survey asks, "In your household, who make the decisions about your children's health?" as opposed to the more common, "Who in your family has the final say on children's health care?"

The 2015 Myanmar survey asks, "Who usually makes decisions regarding the wellbeing of children?" as opposed to the more common, "Who in your family has the final say on children's health care?"

- Bangladesh 2000: Ever-married women age 10-49.
