DELNP2_ALL variables are 1-digit variables.
0 = No
1 = Yes
8 = Missing
9 = NIU (not in universe)
Description
For women who gave birth in the last five years, DELNP2_ALL indicates whether, in response to an open-ended question, they reported a health assistant or auxiliary health worker (AHW) gave delivery care for a recent birth. This response category is country-specific to Nepal.
DELNP2_ALL consists of a set of up to six separate variables, covering the most recent birth (DELNP2_01) up to the sixth-most-recent birth (i.e., DELNP2_02, DELNP2_03, DELNP2_04, DELNP2_05, and DELNP2_06) during the reference period prior to the survey. If DELNP2_ALL is included in a data extract, all these separate variables are included in a researcher's data file.
Comparability
Apart from universe differences and slight differences in question wording, DELNP2_ALL has no comparability problems.
Comparability - Standard DHS
An open-ended question about who provided delivery care is included in Phase II forward of the standard DHS questionnaire. DELNP2_ALL is a country-specific response.
