Description

DELPAYHJSY_ALL indicates whether, in response to an open-ended question, the female respondent reported receiving financial assistance from Janani Suraksha Yojana (JSY) for delivery care. This program is a safe motherhood intervention program from the Indian government, with the goal of decreasing neonatal and maternal death by promoting institutional deliveries.

DELPAYHJSY_ALL consists of a set of up to six separate variables, covering the most recent birth (DELPAYHJSY_01) up to the sixth-most-recent birth (i.e., DELPAYHJSY_02, DELPAYHJSY_03, DELPAYHJSY_04, DELPAYHJSY_05, and DELPAYHJSY_06) during the reference period prior to the survey. If DELPAYHJSY_ALL is included in a data extract, all these separate variables are included in a researcher's data file.
