Description

For women who gave birth in the 5 years before the survey and delivered their child at a medical facility, DELPPCHKA2MO_ALL indicates whether the woman received a postpartum health check by a health professional within two months after discharge from the medical facility.

DELPPCHKA2MO_ALL consists of a set of six separate variables, covering the most recent birth (DELPPCHKA2MO_01) up to the sixth-most-recent birth (i.e., DELPPCHKA2MO_02, DELPPCHKA2MO_03, DELPPCHKA2MO_04, DELPPCHKA2MO_05, and DELPPCHKA2MO_06) during the reference period prior to the survey. If DELPPCHKA2MO_ALL is included in a data extract, all these separate variables are included in a researcher's data file.

This variable differs from the similar variable, DELPPCHKA_ALL, in that DELPPCHKA2MO_ALL is specifically about checkups by a health professional within two months after discharge from a medical facility, whereas DELPPCHKA_ALL indicates whether the woman received a checkup at all, after the delivery of her child at home or in a health facility.

Comparability

DELPPCHKA2MO_ALL has no comparability problems.

Comparability - Standard DHS

DELPPCHKA2MO_ALL (M66_x) first appears in phase V of the standard DHS women's questionnaire and is consistent and included in all subsequent phases.
