Description
DELUMBTRCHLOR_ALL indicates whether, in response to an open-ended question, the respondent reported that chlorhexidine was applied to the stump of her child's umbilical cord. Chlorhexidine is an antiseptic and disinfectant recommended by the World Health Organization for cord care.
DELUMBTRCHLOR_ALL consists of a set of five separate variables, covering the most recent birth (DELUMBTRCHLOR_01) up to the fifth-most-recent birth (i.e., DELUMBTRCHLOR_02, DELUMBTRCHLOR_03, DELUMBTRCHLOR_04, and DELUMBTRCHLOR_05) during the reference period prior to the survey. If DELUMBTRCHLOR_ALL is included in a data extract, all these separate variables are included in a researcher's data file.
Some surveys, specified in the Comparability section, collected this information for the last-born child only (DELUMBTRCHLOR_01).
