Comparability
Differences resulting from the question wording for the variable DVHANY (D119Y) may limit the comparability of DVHTCH (D119V) across samples. In effect, while most samples ask if the woman has "ever" sought help from a teacher to stop such abuse, some samples ask if the woman sought help from a teacher to stop such abuse "within the past year."
Only those countries with comparability issues for this variable are discussed below.
Comparability - Standard DHS
DVHTCH (D119V) is not included in the standard DHS questionnaire for any phase, but it is based on a question included in phase IV of the standard domestic violence module.
