Description
Women who responded to FCCONTINU that female circumcision should continue were asked an open-ended question about why it should continue. FCCOTHER captures whether they said the practice should continue because of "other" reasons. The meaning of "other" depends on the specific reasons identified in a given sample.
Comparability
Along with universe differences, the meaning of "other" depends on the range of specific responses recorded and thus varies for FCCOTHER across samples.
Comparability - Standard DHS
FCCOTHER is included in neither the standard DHS survey nor in any of the three versions of the standard DHS module on female genital cutting.
