Codes and Frequencies
Description
Women who stated that female circumcision should continue (in FCCONTINU) were asked a follow-up question about why it should continue. FCCRELIG captures whether they said the practice should continue because of the demands of religion.
Comparability
Apart from universe differences and slight differences in question wording, FCCRELIG is largely comparable across samples.
Comparability - Standard DHS
FCCRELIG is included in neither the standard DHS questionnaire nor in any of the three versions of the standard DHS module on female circumcision.
