Description
FCOBJHUS indicates whether the woman mentioned her husband as someone objecting to her [eldest] daughter being circumcised, in response to an open-ended question.
Comparability
Apart from universe differences and slight differences in question wording, FCOBJHUS has no comparability problems.
Comparability - Standard
FCOBJHUS is a country-specific variable and is included in neither the standard DHS questionnaire nor in any version of the standard DHS module on female circumcision.
Universe
- Cote d'Ivoire 1998: Women age 15-49 who have heard of FC and whose eldest living daughter is circumcised.
- Mali 1995: All women age 15-49.
- Niger 1998: Women age 15-49 who have heard of FC and whose eldest living daughter is circumcised.
- Nigeria 1999: Women age 10-49 whose eldest living daughter is circumcised.
- Tanzania 1996: Women age 15-49 whose eldest living daughter is circumcised.
