Description

FPDISSIDEF indicates whether, in response to an open-ended question, the respondent reported she disapproves of family planning because of its side effects.

The related variable FPYNOTOPPR (V3A08I) indicates whether, in response to an open-ended question, the respondent reported she is not using a method of contraception because she is opposed to it.

The complementary variable FPYNOTSIDEF (V3A08P) indicates whether, in response to an open-ended question, the respondent reported she is not using a method of contraception because of a fear of side effects.
