FPHOMVISITYO indicates whether some other type of family planning worker had visited the female respondent prior to the interview and had talked to her about family planning. The meaning of other depends on the specific categories included in a particular sample.

Comparability - Standard DHS
FPHOMVISITYO is a country-specific variable not included in any phase of the standard DHS questionnaire. The standard variable FPHOMVISITY (V393), which asks whether any type of family planning worker had visited the woman, is included in Phase III forward of the standard DHS questionnaire.
Comparability — Bangladesh [top]
For Bangladesh 2018, women were asked whether they were visited by a fieldworker who talked to them about family planning or gave them a family planning method during a 6-month reference period. The response categories for this question included three separate categories: whether the fieldworker exclusively talked to the woman about family planning, gave the woman a family planning method, or the fieldworker talked to the woman about family planning and gave the woman a family planning method.
This survey also includes related questions about visits from a government family planning worker (FPHOMVISITYFP), government health worker (FPHOMVISITYHW), or an NGO worker (FPHOMVISITYNGO).
Comparability — Egypt [top]
The 2003 Egyptian survey used the 6 months prior to the interview for the reference period for the other type of family planning worker's visit. This survey includes related questions about visits from a social worker (FPHOMVISITYR), health care worker (FPHOMVISITYHW), or no family planning worker (FPHOMVISITYN).
