FPINSIUD reports who inserted the woman's IUD.
Along with slight differences in question wording, FPINSIUD differs across samples in the number and detail of response categories.
To maximize comparability, IPUMS-DHS uses composite coding for FPINSIUD. The general category "Doctor" has a common first digit of "1," while the second digit distinguishes between "Male doctor" (code "11") and "Female doctor" (code "12").
Comparability - Standard DHS
FPINSIUD is a country-specific variable not included in the standard DHS questionnaire.
