Description
For women who are not currently using a contraceptive method, FPNONGH1 indicates whether, in response to an open-ended question, they reported a government health post or Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) program as a source of family planning. This response category is country-specific to Ghana.
Though IPUMS-DHS integrates "government health post" across samples (see FPNONPUBHP), FPNONGH1 is not included in the integrated variable because this variable consolidates multiple sources into a single category.
Comparability
FPNONGH1 has no comparability problems.
Comparability - Standard DHS
An open-ended question about where family planning can be obtained for women not currently using a method is included in Phase IV forward of the standard DHS questionnaire. FPNONGH1 is a country-specific response not included in the standard DHS modules.
