Description

For women who are not currently using a method of contraception, FPNONNGOWKR indicates whether they reported, in response to an open-ended question, a non-governmental organization (NGO) worker as a source of family planning. The complementary variable FPNONNGO indicates whether the woman reported an NGO in general as the source.

Comparability

Apart from slight universe differences and variation in question wording, FPNONNGOWKR is largely comparable across samples.

Comparability - Standard DHS

An open-ended question about where family planning can be obtained is included in Phase IV forward of the standard DHS questionnaire.

Though responses in this variable are country-specific and not included in the standard DHS modules, they are integrated in FPNONNGOWKR to increase comparability across samples.
