Codes and Frequencies
Description
For women who are currently using family planning and acknowledge having any problem with the method used, FPNOWPROBS (V339) reports the main problem with their current contraception. Country-specific responses were recoded into standard categories for FPNOWPROBS.
When children are chosen as the unit of analysis, the woman respondent indicates the mother of the child.
Comparability
Apart from changes in the universe, changes in response categories reduce the comparability of FPNOWPROBS (V339). For Phase 2, the code "side effects" was added to the standard questionnaire, though countries may have country-specific response categories. See the codes tab for details.
Comparability - Standard DHS
FPNOWPROBS (V339) was included in the standard DHS questionnaire for Phase 1 and 2.
