Codes and Frequencies
Description
FPPLAYHR indicates whether the woman has recently seen or heard family planning messages in a live drama, play, or theater performance.
Comparability
Along with slight universe differences, FPPLAYHR differs across samples in question wording.
Most commonly, the woman is asked to recall family planning messages in a dramatic performance over the ambiguous interval of a "few months." Other samples asked about exposure during a specific number of months, such as six months.
Varying time intervals could lead to variation in the frequency of response. To address these differences, IPUMS-DHS users are encouraged to review the Survey Text tab and take the reference period into consideration when comparing across samples.
Comparability - Standard DHS
FPPLAYHR is a country-specific variable not included in the standard DHS questionnaire.
