Comparability
Along with universe differences, variations in question wording for FPSIGNHR potentially limit comparability.
About half the time, the question was "In the last few months have you heard about family planning" on a billboard/sign, and the exact time-frame is not specified. Other samples refer to a specific number of months. For example, some samples ask about family planning messages in the last six months.
Varying time intervals could lead to variation in the frequency of responses. Researchers interested in using FPSIGNHR should take the reference period into consideration when comparing across samples. See Survey Text.
Comparability - Standard DHS
FPSIGNHR is a country-specific variable not included in the standard DHS questionnaire.
