Description
For women with fistula, FSAFTOTH indicates whether the condition occurred after an event other than delivery, sexual assault, or pelvic surgery.
When children are chosen as the unit of analysis, the woman respondent indicates the mother of the child.
Comparability
FSAFTOTH has no comparability problems.
Comparability - Standard DHS
Questions about fistula are not included in the standard DHS questionnaire. Although FSAFTOTH is not included in the Standard DHS Module on fistula, the module includes an open-ended question about the cause of fistula for women whose fistula did not start after delivery (see FSAFTALL).
