Description

GEO_ GA2000_2012 reports the region of Gabon where the respondent was interviewed. The variable is integrated to yield units with consistent boundaries across samples.

Labels identify the modern geographic units (provinces) contained in each integrated region. Each sample also has its own non-integrated geography variable. The 2012 Gabon sample has greater geographic detail available in its sample-specific variable.

Comparability

The 2000 survey groups the provinces into four regions and combines Libreville and Port-Gentil cities as one region.

The 2010 survey combines Libreville and Port-Gentil cities as one region.
