HCFTG2 indicates whether the woman reported a maternal child health center as a source for female condoms. This response category is country-specific to Togo.

Some samples in the "HCF" series include categories that can be consolidated into a single response. IPUMS-DHS uses supplemental programming to combine these responses in a standard variable while preserving the separate responses in country-specific variables.

HCFTG2 (maternal child health center) is combined with HCFTG1 (public health center) and HCFTG3 (public health post) in HCFPUBHC (all public health centers and health posts) for the 2013 Togo sample. IPUMS-DHS users interested in using HCFTG2 are encouraged to review HCFPUBHC for a more comprehensive response category.

Comparability

HCFTG2 has no comparability problems.

Comparability - Standard DHS

An open-ended question on known sources for female condoms is included in the standard DHS questionnaire in Phases IV forward.

Although HCFTG2 is a country-specific response, this variable is combined with other responses in HCFPUBHC, a variable that encompasses all public health centers and health posts as sources of female condoms. IPUMS-DHS users are encouraged to review the Description tab of HCFTG2 or the Comparability tab of HCFPUBHC for more information on the specific categories combined for Togo 2013.

Universe
