Description
HCFZM2 indicates whether the woman reported a public health post as a source for female condoms. This response category is country-specific to Zambia.
Some samples in the "HCF" series include categories that can be consolidated into a single response. IPUMS-DHS uses supplemental programming to combine these responses in a standard variable while preserving the separate responses in country-specific variables.
HCFZM2 is combined with HCFZM1 (public health center) in HCFPUBHC (all public health centers and health posts) for the 2001 and 2007 Zambia samples. IPUMS-DHS users interested in using HCFZM2 are encouraged to review HCFPUBHC for a more comprehensive response category.
Comparability
HCFZM2 has no comparability problems.
Comparability - Standard DHS
An open-ended question on known sources for female condoms is included in the standard DHS questionnaire in Phases IV forward.
Though HCFZM2 is a country-specific response, this variable is combined with other responses in HCFPUBHC, a variable that encompasses public health centers and health posts as sources of female condoms. IPUMS-DHS users are encouraged to review the Description tab of HCFZM2 or the Comparability tab of HCFPUBHC for more information on the specific categories combined for Zambia 2001 and 2007.
