Description
HCMPUBMATRCLIN indicates whether the female respondent reported a public maternity/nursing home as a source for male condoms.
In the countries where these response categories exist, maternity or nursing homes are organizations that serve expectant mothers who are either poor or have potentially high-risk pregnancies.
Comparability
Along with universe differences, HCMPUBMATRCLIN has some variation in question wording that broadly applies to the "source for male condom" series. For discussion of question wording in this variable series, see the comparability section of HCMDK.
Comparability - Standard DHS
An open-ended question on known sources for male condoms is included in the standard DHS questionnaire in Phase III forward. HCMPUBMATRCLIN is country-specific and not part of the standard DHS questionnaire.

Universe
- Mali 2006: All women age 15-49.
- Mali 2018: Women age 15-49 who have had sexual intercourse in the last year and used a condom every time they had sex with their most recent partner in the last year.
