HUSEDYRSL reports the number of years of schooling the respondent's husband completed at the highest level of schooling achieved, in the Sierra Leonean educational system and as reported in HUSEDLVLSL. This variable is country-specific to Sierra Leone.

Comparability

HUSEDYRSL has no comparability problems.

Because HUSEDYRSL reports the number of years of schooling at the highest level achieved, "4 years" does not mean 4 years total, but 4 years at whichever level of education the respondent achieved, within the Sierra Leonean educational system. Thus, a code of 4 could indicate 4 years of primary school, first cycle of secondary school, or second cycle of secondary school, for example.
