Apart from universe differences and differences in question wording, ILLRECENT is largely comparable across samples.
Comparability - Standard DHS
ILLRECENT is not included in any phase of the standard DHS questionnaire.
In the 2007 Democratic Republic of the Congo survey, the questionnaire asks whether the respondent has been sick in the last 2 weeks.
The 1987 Moroccan survey asks whether the respondent has had an illness in the past month that required care or treatment.
In the 1996 Tanzania survey, the questionnaire asks whether the respondent has been sick in the last 4 weeks.
