Description
For household members who slept under a bed net the previous night, MLNETCAMPAIGN (HML22) indicates whether the bed net used was obtained from a (government or school distribution) campaign, an antenatal care visit, an immunization visit, or after the birth delivery.
For household members who slept under more than one bed net the previous night, MLNETCAMPAIGN refers to the net numbered in MLNETINDX (HMLIDX).
Comparability
In addition to universe differences and slight differences in question wording, MLNETCAMPAIGN (HML22) differs across samples in the response categories. IPUMS-DHS uses composite coding to maximize comparability. Under this coding scheme, "No" is coded "0," while "Yes" responses share a common first digit of "1," with additional detail is preserved in the second digit (e.g., "13" for "Yes, antenatal visit").
Comparability - Standard DHS
MLNETCAMPAIGN (HML22) is included as a standard variable in Phase VII of the standard DHS questionnaire.
