For women who had malaria in the last year, were prescribed medication to treat the malaria, and purchased the prescribed medication, MLTRELRXGH2 indicates whether they purchased the anti-malarial medication at a private chemist or drug store.
Some samples in the "MLTRELRX" series include multiple categories that can be consolidated into a single broad response. IPUMS DHS uses supplemental programming to combine these responses in a standard variable, while also preserving the separate responses in country-specific variables.
