Description
For women who gave birth in the five years before the survey, and whose last-born child had a health check within two months of delivery, PNBABCKLOC_01 (M53_1) reports where the child's postnatal health check took place. Response categories vary across samples. See Comparability.

The harmonized coding categories in the IPUMS-DHS variable PNBABCKLOC_01 were constructed to reflect the major and minor categories in the original DHS variable (M53_1). The major categories are:
- 1000: Home
- 2000: Public sector facilities
- 3000: Private medical sector facilities
- 4000: Non-governmental organizations (NGOs)
- 5000: Religious/mission facilities
The second, third, and fourth digits of PNBABCKLOC_01's codes distinguish between specific locations and provide detail present in only some samples.
