Description
PREGTERMCARELOC reports where the respondent received care after her last pregnancy termination, or, if her last pregnancy termination took place at a health facility, the location of the termination.
Comparability
Along with universe differences and slight differences in question wording, the response categories for PREGTERMCARELOC vary across samples.
The harmonized coding categories in the IPUMS-DHS variable PREGTERMCARELOC were constructed to reflect the major and minor categories in the original DHS variable. The major categories are:
- 100: Public sector facilities
- 200: Private medical sector facilities
- 300: Other
The second and third digits of PREGTERMCARELOC's codes distinguish between specific locations and provide detail present in only some samples.
