STIADGN4 indicates whether the female respondent reported seeking advice or treatment from a regional hospital the last time she experienced symptoms of a sexually transmitted infection. This response category is country-specific to Guinea.

Some samples in the "STIAD" series include multiple categories that can be consolidated into a single broad response. IPUMS-DHS uses supplemental programming to combine these responses in a standard variable, while also preserving the separate responses in country-specific variables.

STIADGN4 (regional hospital) is combined with STIADGN3 (national hospital) and STIADGN5 (prefectoral hospital/communal medical center) in STIADPUBHOS (all public hospitals) for the 2018 Guinea sample. Comparability - Standard DHS

An open-ended question about where the woman received advice/treatment for an STI is included in Phases III, V and VI forward of the standard DHS questionnaire.

Although STIADGN4 is a country-specific response not included in the standard DHS modules, it is combined with other responses in STIADPUBHOS, a standard variable that encompasses all public hospitals as sources for STI advice/treatment.
