STIADGN5 indicates whether the female respondent reported seeking advice or treatment from a prefectoral hospital/communal medical center the last time she experienced symptoms of a sexually transmitted infection. This response category is country-specific to Guinea.

Some samples in the "STIAD" series include multiple categories that can be consolidated into a single broad response. IPUMS-DHS uses supplemental programming to combine these responses in a standard variable, while also preserving the separate responses in country-specific variables.

STIADGN5 (prefectoral hospital/communal medical center) is combined with STIADGN3 (national hospital) and STIADGN4 (regional hospital) in STIADPUBHOS (all public hospitals) for the 2018 Guinea sample. Although STIADGN5 is a country-specific response not included in the standard DHS modules, it is combined with other responses in STIADPUBHOS, a standard variable that encompasses all public hospitals as sources for STI advice/treatment.
