Codes and Frequencies
Description
TBDIAGWHEN reports when the respondent was (last) diagnosed with tuberculosis.
Comparability
In addition to universe differences and slight differences in question wording, TBDIAGWHEN varies in the number of categories reported. To maximize comparability, IPUMS DHS uses composite coding with "Within the last year" having a first digit of "1" and "1 or more years ago" having a first digit of "2." The second digit provides further detail when this additional information is available.
Comparability - Standard DHS
TBDIAGWHEN is a country-specific variable, and it is not included in any phase of the standard DHS questionnaire.
Universe
- Malawi 2010: Women age 15-49 who have ever been diagnosed with tuberculosis.
