Description
TETNUS1YR reports the year that the female respondent received her first tetanus toxoid immunization.
The complementary variables TETNUS1DAY and TETNUS1MO report the day of the month and the month of the female respondent's first tetanus toxoid immunization, as recorded on a vaccination card shown to the interviewer.
Comparability
TETNUS1YR has no comparability problems.
While all samples in TETNUS1YR use the Gregorian calendar, certain countries use country-specific calendars. These countries (noted below) are excluded from TETNUS1YR but are included in country-specific variables.
- Nepal uses the uses the Vikram Samvat: TETNUS1YR_NP
TETNUS1YR is a country-specific variable, and it is not included in any phase of the standard DHS questionnaire.
Universe
- Bangladesh 2000: Ever-married women age 10-49 who gave birth in the 5 years before the survey, who received at least one tetanus injection and whose first tetanus injection date was on their tetanus injection card.
