YRSCHLSL reports the number of years of education the female respondent completed at the highest level of schooling achieved, as reported in EDUCLVLSL. This variable is country-specific to Sierra Leone and reflects the levels of schooling recognized in the Sierra Leone educational system.

Comparability

YRSCHLSL has no comparability problems.

Because YRSCHLSL reports the number of years of schooling at the level achieved, "4 years" does not mean 4 years total, but 4 years at whichever level of education the respondent achieved. Thus, a code of 4 could indicate 4 years of primary school, 1st cycle of secondary school, or 2nd cycle of secondary school, for example.
