Description
GEO_BF2003_2018 indicates the region of Burkina Faso where the respondent was interviewed. The variable is integrated to yield units with consistent boundaries across samples.
Labels identify the modern geographic units (regions) contained in each integrated region. Each sample also has its own non-integrated geography variable. The 2003 Burkina Faso sample has greater geographic detail available in its sample-specific variable.

Comparability
Burkina Faso had 14 regions in 2003, with the capital, Ouagadougou, included as a separate region. The 2010 sample combines Ouagadougou with Centre, resulting with 13 regions.
The Burkina Faso 1993 and 1998 samples are excluded from GEO_BF2003_2010, due to inconsistent boundaries and geographic units.
The 2014 and 2018 samples correspond to Malaria Indicators Surveys (MIS).
