Description

GEO_RW2008 (V101_RW2008) reports the region of Rwanda where the respondent was interviewed. DHS units in the 2008 Rwanda survey are equivalent to provinces.

Other sample years have their own sample-specific geography variables. There are also integrated variables, GEO_RW1992_2005 and GEO_RW2005_2019, that provide spatially consistent units over time. Note that Rwanda 2008 is an interim survey, and detailed geography is not provided.

GEO_RW2008 (V101_RW2008) is a country- and sample-specific variable and has no comparability issues.

Comparability - Standard DHS

GEO_RW2008, like other V101 variables, is a geographic variable added during processing of the DHS data. V101 is included in all Phases of the DHS.
