Description

GEO_RW2019 (V101_RW2019) reports the region of Rwanda where the respondent was interviewed. DHS units in the 2019 Rwanda survey are equivalent to provinces.

Other sample years have their own sample-specific geography variables. The integrated variables GEO_RW1992_2005 and GEO_RW2005_2019 provide spatially consistent units for Rwanda over time. The Rwanda 2014 and 2019 samples are excluded from GEO_RW1992_2005 due to inconsistent boundaries.

Comparability

GEO_RW2019 (V101_RW2019) is a country- and sample-specific variable and has no comparability issues.

Comparability - Standard DHS

GEO_RW2019, like other V101 variables, is a geographic variable added during processing of the DHS data. V101 (and the equivalent variables MV101 for men and HV024 for household members) are included in all Phases of the DHS.
