Description

GEO_ TD2004_2014 reports the region of Chad where the respondent was interviewed. The variable is integrated to yield units with consistent boundaries across samples. Regions in the 2004 sample are grouped into zones. GEO_TD2004_2014 harmonizes zones from 2004 and regions from 2014.

Labels identify the modern geographic units (regions). Each sample also has its own non-integrated geography variable. The 1996 sample is not mappable and cannot be harmonized with the 2004 and 2014 regions, so the 1996 sample is not included in GEO_TD2004_2014.

Comparability

For the 2014 sample, the Ennedi region includes Ennedi Est and Ennedi Ouest. Bokuti and Tibesti are combined together in 2014.

Regions in the 2004 sample are grouped into zones. For a list of zones and their corresponding regions, refer to GEO_TD2004.
